We recently pieced together a beer lover’s guide to brews made by musicians, but it looks like there’s one very special beer that we left out.
UK outfit Mumford & Sons are taking over a Sydney venue for a fortnight at the end of this month, creating their very own pop-up bar that will sell limited edition special ale all in promotion of their forthcoming record, Wilder Mind, which hits shelves Friday 1 May.

The bar will sell the limited edition ‘Wilder Mind’ Ale throughout the two weeks, as well as this, there will be live performances from local acts and DJ’s, local artists creating a mural live on site, dedicated cocktails, a 3D album artwork, whiskey tasting, pre album release listening sessions and of course, the chance to taste the exclusive Wilder Mind Ale to quench your autumn thirst.

The four-piece turned heads after they dropped the first single from Wilder Mind, the beautiful tune, ‘Believe’ which saw the crew move in a new (banjo-less) direction.
Wilder Mind was recorded at Air Studios, London and produced by James Ford (Arctic Monkeys, HAIM, Florence & The Machine). It features twelve new tracks, written collaboratively by the band in London, Brooklyn, and Texas. A number of the new songs were written and demo’d at Aaron Dessner’s (The National) garage studios in Brooklyn and is the band’s first LP release since 2012’s Babel and their debut, platinum wax, Sigh No More of 2009.
If you’re keen to splash down some super special Mumford & Sons Wilder Mind Ale, you’d better make your way to The Newtown Hotel between 27th April – 10th May and make the most of this super unique, band themed bar.
