Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis has confirmed that the band are gearing up to start working on their next album, in two weeks time.

This forthcoming LP will mark the bands’ 12th album. It is the third created with the current lineup, consisting of Anthony Kiedis, Chad Smith, Flea and Josh Klinghoffer.

This will be the first new Red Hot Chili Peppers material released since their 2016 effort The Getaway.

In the meantime, bassist Flea is set to publish his memoir, which’ll be released worldwide on September 25. Acid For The Children, will follow the life of Flea, an “Iconic bassist and co-founder of the immortal Red Hot Chili Peppers finally tells his fascinating life story, complete with all the dizzying highs and the gutter lows you’d expect from an LA street rat turned world-famous rock star.”
