Finally something official has surfaced online about the until-recently secret side project Foo Fighters frontman and former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl has been working on.

Last week some more details on the project were revealed by Slipknot singer and collaborator Corey Taylor who told Artisan News that the project was a documentary about the sound board used to record a number of high profile rock acts at Sound City Studios.

Speaking from the red carper, Taylor revealed “[Grohl is] doing a documentary about the legendary board from Sound City that every and their mom recorded on. Everybody from ‘Nevermind’ to ‘Iowa,’ and he’s slowly but surely gotten all these people together to make music on that board again.”

A trailer has now surfaced online that gives us a further glimpse into what we can expect from the documentary that has a huge list of stars attached to such as Joe Baressi (producer Chevelle, Queens of the Stone Age), Butch Vig (producer Nirvana, Foo Fighters), Frank Black (The Pixies), Ross Robinson (producer Korn, Slipknot), Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters), Nick Raskulinecz (producer Alice in Chains, Stone Sour), Vinnie Appice (Dio, Heaven & Hell), Tim Commemford (Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave), Lars Ulrich (Metallica), Alain Johannes and Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age, Them Crooked Vultures).

Speaking about the documentary Grohl told Rolling Stone recently “I decided to make a film about that feeling when you put five guys in a room, hit “record” and the hair on the back of your neck stands up. Expect some epic jam sessions.”

No release date has been given for the film but the official website now promises that is it ‘Coming Soon’. Watch the trailer below.
