Melbourne hip hop artist 360 has been busy working on the follow-up to his award-winning Falling & Flying record and after a dropping a rather conspicuous clue that Silverchair’s Daniel Johns would be making an appearance on his third studio album, the rapper has revealed that he’s collaborating with another high profile Aussie musician on his latest.
The MC, who is set to fly the flag for Aussie hip hop as part of the Lollapalooza 2013 lineup, has dropped a number of videos on his Instagram account showing him working with The Presets’ Julian Hamilton (a mate of Daniel Johns, trainspotters), as The Music reports.
One clip shows Hamilton playing some distinctly Presets-esque keys, while another shows 360, aka Matthew Colwell, bobbing along to a buzzing dance beat. A third clip contains what sounds like a fuller mix of the previous audio along with Hamilton’s vocals. A Presets-style banger with 360’s rhymes? It seems highly likely.
The rapper’s manager, Rae Harvey of Crucial Music, has confirmed that the hip hop artist’s home footage is not a coincidence and that the singing half of The Presets does indeed appear on the new album.
“Matt is working with a whole bunch of people for his new album, which includes Julian Hamilton,” she said, teasing that there are other collaborations for 360’s Falling & Flying follow-up that are yet to surface. While the Crucial Music head recently tweeted her enthusiasm about the new LP:

Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns is also set to appear on the new album, thanks to another bit of film-making from 360 in May in which he previews a clip of a new track called ‘Impossible’ along with the clue that it features the voice of “one of Australia’s best singers and songwriters,” and the easy-unpack hint that “their name reminds me of Golden Table.”
Assuming that translates to Silverchair, then the angelic tones belong to Daniel Johns, who was recently named as one of the nation’s Greatest Singers in a poll of vocalist peers and who’s quietly working on a “rocking” new solo project with Empire of the Sun’s Luke Steele.
The video dropping the Daniel Johns cameo also has 360 discussing that work on his new album is “coming (along) and moving quickly,” adding that the new material “is already 10 times better than the last album.”
