OMG. When we decided to partner up with the CherryRock12 to find a wicked local band to appear on the already massive Cherry Rock 012 lineup we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into.
Nearly 200 entries later, the Tone Deaf team had listened to hours of new music, read stacks of entries and checked out a seemingly endless collection of band sites, soundclouds, Youtube clips and God knows what else.
Happily when we packed up our little bag of bands and headed to Cherry Bar to meet the Cherry team and duke it out over a final decision it transpired that there was (after some minor punch-ons and name calling) an unanimous winner…drum roll please.
Tone Deaf in conjunction with Cherry Rock 012 are pleased to announce that crazy rock duo King Of The North will have their Fu Manchu dream granted when they hit the stage at Cherry Rock 012 on Sunday 29th April at that little slice of rock heaven, AC/DC Lane.
They’ll be joining an epic lineup at the 6th annual Cherry Rock festival that already boasts Black Cobra (USA), our best local hard rock psychedelic act Matt Sonic & the High Times, loose rockers Bitter Sweet Kicks, thrash-punks Vice Grip Pussies, local Southern rockers My Dynamite, Celtic punks The Ramshackle Army (who have just been announced as Anti Flag supports on the upcoming tour) and all-girl young grunge trio Valentiine.
King Of The North have been making a heap of noise for just two blokes. Having recently played local shows with manic punks The Morrisons and heavy-hittin’ lady Dallas Frasca, as well as smashing residencies at the Espy and the Retreat they were this week announced as Melbourne supports for pub rock legends, Cold Chisel. It’s gonna be a big coupla weeks boys. Congratulations!
