This year the Sprung Festival party is not shutting down at 10!

Enlisting the talents of hip hop legends M PHAZES and MANTRA, and featuring a quality support cast of stage rippers in Adelaide’s DJ REFLUX (FUNKOARS), Melbourne’s MAUNDZ and Brisbane’s own MR HILL to keep things rolling into the wee hours of the morning.

Former QLD boy M PHAZES is one of Australian Hip Hop’s top producers and if he’s not THE number one DJ in the country right now, we don’t know who is. You only need to look at the man’s list of credits to see where he’s at, and everybody who’s everybody has made guest appearances on his two albums Good Gracious and Phaze One. In fact, who on the Sprung lineup hasn’t worked with the man? Oh and did we mention he puts on one hell of a live show?

MANTRA is fast becoming one of Australia’s most eminent hip hop artists. After setting a new bench mark with his first solo effort, Power Of The Spoken, the Melbourne emcee has backed it up with the explosive ‘Speaking Volumes’. Publicly, yet astutely labelled “your favourite rapper’s favourite rapper”, it was no surprise that an inundation of accomplished names stepped forward to contribute on Speaking Volumes such as Promoe (Looptroop Rockers, Sweden), Drapht, Urthboy, Illy and many more. ’Speaking Volumes’ credits beats from the likes of M-Phazes, El Gusto and Mista Savona among others.

After a killer set last year, there was no stopping DJ REFLUX from the Funkoars from making his way back up to Brisbane to keep on with the party. At the age of 35 Reflux is one of Australia’s premier Hip-Hop Dj’s and a true exponent and veteran of the art of turntablism. Hailing from Adelaide, South Australia, Reflux is signed to Golden Era Records. He can be regularly found touring all over the country with the Funkoars or deep in the studio carefully mixing some of the country’s most popular hip hop artists such as Funkoars, Vents, Briggs, Drapht and Illy just to name a few.

Joining them on stage is Melbourne’s MAUNDZ of the Crate Cartel. Maundz comes straight off his fresh albumZero that features a bunch of industry heavyweights from Drapht to Brad Strutt to Bias B. Maundz comes loaded with all the lyrics to rip up the stage.

And finally, repping Boomtown is MR HILL from the Born Fresh crew who’s just dropped his album The Feedbackwith stage mate Rahjconkas. For the album they pulled in a massive legendary array of guests such as Trials, The Tongue, Hau, Jeswon, Joyride, Seven, Phatchance and 4th and if you haven’t got your ears around it yet, you’ve been living under a rock!
