The Summadayze 2013 lineup has dropped and our suspicions turned out to be true with both M.I.A and The Chemical Brothers making an appearance, the later albeit only performing a DJ set.

The first act ‘leaked’ for the 2013 lineup was none other than M.I.A , who has a new album coming out later this year – just in time for the summer festival season. The leak gained steam from the promoters themselves, Future Entertainment, who posted an extract from a Gold Coast Bulletin article claiming M.I.A would be on the bill.

The only other clue was the teaser for Summadayze 2013 that popped up on the festival’s Facebook and website. A short forty second montage filled with suitably sunstreaked bodies, bright colours, squiggly animations and more than few attractive girls and guys with tousled hair. So far, so promo.

The interesting part was the soundtrack. Namely, ‘The Boxer” from beat boffins, The Chemical Brothers, the single – featuring the Charlatans singer, Tim Burgess – taken from the band’s 2005 album Push The Button.

Long story short, we had little to go on, but The Chemical Brothers seemed likely – after all, remember the Parklife promo that featured Passion Pit? Well, the electropop group ended up appearing at Parklife 2012.

And it was The Chemical Brothers, the reigning supreme  kings of dance music for more than fifteen years, that we got.

Known for their killer production skills and epic tracks like ‘Leave Home’, ‘Escape Velocity’ and their recent London 2012 track ‘Velodrome’, there aren’t too many people who won’t know this devil-may-care duo also spend stacks of time attached to their decks, DJing everywhere from Coachella to Ibiza and back again.

When two of the masterminds behind Pendulum, Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen, decided to do something shiny and new, the huge electronic kick in the head that is Knife Party was born. Knife Party are armed with some mammoth tracks and they are going to unleash them with wild abandon at Shore Thing.

Legendary Dutch DJ Fedde Le Grand is set to drop his heady mix of DJ dexterity, remix mastery and production prowess onto the Shore Thing stage with a loud bass-driven clamour. If Fedde Le Grand busts out his epic hit ‘Put Your Hands Up For Detroit’ and his stellar remix of Everything But The Girl’s ‘Missing’ then Shore Thing is going to see in the New Year with one hell of a bang.
