In an obvious sign that cashed up bogan miners in Perth don’t like their doof, the We Love Sounds festival has axed the Perth leg of the national tour due to poor ticket sales. According to promoter Sounds, sales for the planned event in Perth’s Supreme Court Gardens on June 5th fell “well below any reasonable expectations.” The festival kicks off in Auckland before heading on the Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Adelaide. In its seventh year, the dance festival featured headliners Underworld, Felix Da Housecat and Laidback Luke.

The promoters in their statement said “Together, the promoters fought hard to make the festival one of the most spectacular on the circuit. This meant unparalleled production and infrastructure costs to ensure all patrons were undercover, experiencing the very best in audio and visual quality. Rest assured every situation and scenario to avoid this course of action have been carefully considered. This included scaling back the production value of the event, however this simply wasn’t an option for the promoters.”
