Trent Reznor is showing no signs of slowing down, revealing he’s hoping to work on the ‘next Nine Inch Nails project’ in just a matter of weeks.
If you’re a fan of Nine Inch Nails and Trent Reznor, then these last couple of years have undoubtedly been right up your alley.
Since December of 2016, Nine Inch Nails have released two EPs, an album, and have toured the US with The Jesus And Mary Chain. Meanwhile, Trent Reznor and bandmate Atticus Ross have been busy scoring countless films, including Mid90s, Bird Box, and The Woman In The Window.
However, if you thought that Trent Reznor was going to close out the year with a well-deserved snooze, you’d be way off, with something new from Nine Inch Nails set to keep him occupied.
Speaking to Variety recently about balancing touring with recording, Reznor revealed that he plans to dive headfirst into the studio once he wraps up his current recording commitments.
“Once we get a significant amount of scoring things out of us right now, we know what the next Nine Inch Nails project is going to be,” he began.
“In six weeks we’re going to have a few weeks off. Maybe we could start on it there, or we may not, but it’s nice to be looking forward to that thing and subconsciously know that it’s coming up and you’re putting things in that bucket… ideas to try when it comes up.”
“We’re just trying to make the best music possible in whatever format that might be.”
At this stage, it’s not clear what is in store for Nine Inch Nails fans, but the use of the word “project” indicates it might be something a little less conventional than a record.
While we certainly won’t complain about anything new from Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, we’re definitely intrigued to see what they have in store for us. Who knows, maybe it might result in a long-overdue Aussie tour as well?
