The alt-rock goddesses of Sleater-Kinney have been cranking amplifiers and turning heads for over two decades. At their live shows they serve up one catchy, off-kilter classic after another with ten tons of riot grrrl energy.
Guitarist Carrie Brownstein struts and thrashes around the stage producing her menacing and inventive riffs while singer Corin Tucker favors a calmer approach, resembling the eye of a storm with her intensely focused delivery. Holding it down on the drums is Janet Weiss, who lays down thunderous beats while the two other members trade searing vocals and intricate guitar parts.
While here for Golden Plains the band stopped off to play a few nights at Thornbury’s recently opened Croxton Hotel.
