Avicii’s friends and family have just confirmed a posthumous record from the Swedish artist and producer.
Slated for a June, 2019, release, the album will be titled Tim after the legal name of Tim Bergling. The famed electronic and dance producer died of an apparent suicide last year. The album’s is due to arrive in June, and lead single ‘S.O.S’ arrives on April 10.
This announcement comes after it was revealed that Bergling left behind a “wealth of unreleased material”, and was working on an album at the time of his passing. Longtime Avicii collaborator Albin Nedler was working on the album with Bergling, and confirmed it was “75 to 80% finished.” Coldplay singer Chris Martin is set to feature on one of the album’s tracks.

Late last month, the Bergling family announced the Tim Bergling Foundation.
A statement released at the time of announcement confirms the charity will work in climate change, development assistance, nature conservation, and endangered species. However, its main focus will be “supporting people and organisations working in the field of mental illness and suicide prevention.” Proceeds from the album’s sales will go to the foundation.
“Tim wanted to make a difference,” the statement concludes. “Starting a foundation in his name is our way to honour his memory and continue to act in his spirit.”
Prior to his passing, Bergling was considered to be one of the most popular and successful EDM artists of all time. The artist scored a No. 4 hit on 2013’s Billboard 200, with ‘Wake Me Up.’

The Swedish producer regularly appeared in the Top 5 of Forbes’ ‘Highest-Paid DJs’ lists. Following several highly successful years, Bergling retired from touring in 2016, citing health reasons.
It was known that Bergling suffered from acute pancreatitis – with alcohol to blame. He subsequently had his gallbladder and appendix removed. He claimed to have quit drinking post-surgery. However, some friends said they’d sighted him intoxicated afterward, and criticising himself for it.
Avicii’s new single, ‘S.O.S’ will be out Wednesday 10 April, with Tim scheduled for release in June.
