Sydney’s Forces & Fury have delivered another stunning release, sharing their third single for 2019; the mesmerising ‘My Affliction’.
For many, one of the biggest finds of 2019 would have to be Forces & Fury, a duo of familiar faces who burst onto the scene this year.
Consisting of Astrid Holz and Kat Ayala of Rackett fame, the pair released their debut single earlier this year after having written tunes together as far back as 2016. Soon enough, ‘Stormy Weather’ was followed by ‘Watch It Burn’, quickly turning the duo into a name that people need to know.
Now, as the year tends towards a close, Forces & Fury are determined to go out with a bang, delivering ‘My Affliction’ featuring Hunter Adams on vocals.
“Hunter embraced the song in such a short amount of time, and added her own beautiful fragility to it,” they explained. “She delivered her vocals so honestly and quickly, it blew us away.
“The whole experience of working with Hunter was cathartic for all of us in different ways, and we already have plans to work on more songs together in the future.”
With lyrics centring around love gone bad, ‘My Affliction’ features something of a darker sound, while showcasing their musical eclecticism that has seen Holz and Ayala become two of the most exciting names on the scene.

While the lyrics are themselves quite personal, the addition of Hunter Adams meant that the vocalist also had her own personal attachment to the project formed in time.
“I went through very intense and complex breakup a year ago and, as it often is with break ups, there were a lot of things that went unsaid,” Adams explained. “The chorus that Forces & Fury had written guided a lot of the rest of the writing for me.
“The song is about the aftermath of a relationship and the struggle of saddling the line between loving and loathing someone. That’s the best way I can explain it.”
Forces & Fury’s ‘My Affliction’ is officially out on Friday, November 22nd, but you can give it a listen below.
