Indie rockers Lighthouse And The Whaler are gearing up to unveil their stunning new LP titled Mount Royal. The four piece hailing from Cleveland, Ohio are set to release the record locally via Smack Face Records on Friday September the 18th.

The bulk of Mont Royal‘s lyrics were written by the band’s Michael LoPresti in the sumer of 2014 while on vacation with his family. He describes idyllic scenes–a big house in Maine overlooking the water, writing music on an acoustic guitar on the porch at sunset–that led him to uncharted introspective territory. Lyrically, Mont Royal‘s songs are all about coming face-to-face with uncertainty, dealing with moments that threaten to upend lives: the emergence of adulthood, the possibility of success, the potential for failure or personal loss, and past emotional scars

The indie folk crew have been honing their craft (and songwriting abilities) performing at venues like Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame, SXSW, House of Blues and Mercury Lounge. Though their favorite show to date took place in the attic of an old bookstore, which essentially epitomises the band – supremely talented though incredible humble and understated. To celebrate the release of Mont Royal‘s release this Friday the very kind crew at Smack Face Records have given us a cheeky stream of latest single, check it out below.
