We’ve been fans of Melbourne duo Slowly Slowly since the release of their anthemic debut single ‘Go Easy’ early last year.
Comprised of Ben Stewart (the old drummer from post-punks The Sinking Teeth) and Alex Quayle it was their “no frills” approach to penning emotive guitar driven alt-pop that really captured our attention.
They’re now back with a brand new single ‘Pussy Makes The World Go Round’ (PMTWGR) the latest rase of what to expect from the band’s debut LP.
The duo’s stripped back arrangement lays the foundation of ‘PMTWGR’, while layer upon layer the singles slowly builds until finally being blown apart by Tom Lanyon’s (CERES) instantly recognisable voice.
Completely self recorded and mixed, ‘PMTWGR’ has remained unchanged from its initial conception – with a careful ear you can hear the tired faces swaying back and forth at 4am while the room microphones capture the drums down the hall.
For those uninitiated ‘PMTWGR’ is an impressive introduction to the duo and for old fans the guys have once again kept us on our toes, hanging for the release of their debut full length effort.
