The critically acclaimed Punch Brothers have just announced their inaugural visit to Australia, performing at shows in Melbourne, Sydney and at the 2012 Adelaide International Guitar Festival, after the rising stars were hand-picked by the Festival Artistic Director and revered Australian classical guitarist Slava Grigoryan.
The tw0-time Grammy nominated group have been described by legendary producer T Bone Burnett as “one of the most incredible bands (America) has ever produced”, combining indie rock, folk, jazz, bluegrass, and classical music in a sound that is unprecedented and inspiring. Unbound by notions of genre, their collaborative, porous approach to music making results in an extraordinary dynamic performance, laced with breathless motion and humour.
These dates will mark the first time the Punch Brothers will visit our shores, and the first since releasing their latest album, Who’s Feeling Young Now?
