We all supported the somewhat harebrained campaign to get Killing In The Name to the UK Number One for Xmas – and all patted ourselves on the back when it beat the bit of belly button lint from Simon Cowell’s Pop Idol to the Number One spot.
During the campaign RATM promised to play a free gig if they got to Number 1 (no doubt figuring they would have got enough in royalties anyway that it would be still leave them coming out with more money in the bank). Well, they’re coming good on the promise: apparently their promoter in the UK, Andy Copping has advised the announcement is imminent.
Spouting forth on Twitter.com/maverick_AC last Saturday (6th), the Download and Live Nation evil overlord promised, “There should be news regarding the free Rage Against The Machine gig late next week…”
