With names like Violent Soho and Northlane already in the bag, the lineup for Soundwave 2016 is quickly shaping up to be something very special. It was given an extra boost over the weekend with the addition of hard rock supergroup We Are Harlot.

After a curious tweeter queried Soundwave promoter AJ Maddah as to whether the group, which features former Asking Alexandria frontman Danny Worsnop and former Sebastian Bach bassist Jeff George, are welcome at Soundwave 2016, Maddah responded in the affirmative.

This caught the attention of the band, who replied enthusiastically, “See ya soon, Helldog!” Worsnop soon followed-up by taking to his personal Twitter account where he said fans should “consider us confirmed”, promising that the band would “go wild”.

Maddah responded to Worsnop by writing that he’ll get to work on getting “a spare liver lined up”, so it sounds like you definitely look forward to some hard rock stylings from the group, who unveiled their debut album last month, come next year.

Last month, Soundwave organisers announced that the 2016 instalment of the festival would see a return to its traditional one-day format and be held in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne this January.

Soundwave 2016 will take place in Brisbane on Saturday, 23rd January; Sydney on Sunday, 24th January; and Melbourne on Tuesday, 26th January, which means Soundwave Melbourne has taken over the Australia Day Public Holiday post previously held by Big Day Out.
