We’d like to know a little bit about you for our files, but we don’t like regurgitating press releases or asking the easy questions. At Tone Deaf we only ask the tough questions, so just hold still, grit your teeth while we apply the thumbscrews, and pull out our thermometer while you open up and say ahhhhhhhhhhh… Truthful answers only or we drink your rider while you’re on stage.
If you went through your parents’ record collection and you got to choose one album each, but it couldn’t be the same one, which would it be?
Amy: Led Zeppelin II
Hannah: Frank Zappa – One Size Fits All
Sarah: Pink Floyd – Dark Side Of The Moon
Holly: Frank Zappa – Apostrophe
Take us back to the first gig each of you went to you went to. Who was it and what was the venue?
We can’t remember the exact first gig, but for all of us it would have been local Freeza gigs. We still love going to these to see brand new bands. We all find it quite inspiring! We also have early memories of seeing bands at the zoo, or being at a local pub with old blues bands playing in the arvo.
What’s your favourite site to download music from and do you ever pay for it? Can we find any of your releases there?
The only site we use is iTunes and yep, obviously got to pay for it and strangely for us you can find our music there.
What band posters or prints might we find on your bedroom walls?
Hannah and my bedrooms are both almost completely covered with posters, so there’s a whole heap of bands. We have everything from our ‘Jam Cruise’ (a music festival on a cruise ship we went on) posters, to The Stones.
If a film was made about Stonefield, which actress would you like to play each of you?
Amy – Kiera Knightly because I love her and well.. she has blonde hair so that’s good enough.
Hannah – Ellen Page because her character in Juno is very similar to Hannah!
Sarah – Amanda Seyfried
Holly – Whatever Matilda’s real name is.
(We have all been asked at some point if we are the little blonde girl in School Of Rock, so perhaps she is appropriate..)
What’s the best way to pass time in the tour van?
Homework sadly enough for Sarah and Holly. For Hannah and Amy.. listening to music and staring at the scenery!
Since you’re spending so much time together at the moment, surely each of you can nominate one sister and their most annoying habit…
Amy: Holly. She finds any excuse under the sun to get out of helping pack or unpack our music equipment, including “I had to pat the dog.”
Hannah: Holly – she talks too much.
Sarah: Holly. You can’t leave anything lying around the house because she is obsessed with having everything neat and tidy, so she puts things in places, forgets about it and we can never find them.
A little bit of a trend going on here…
Holly: All of them. Their most annoying habit is telling me to be quiet.
Right, here’s the plug section – tell us about upcoming gigs/tours and releases.
