Stranger Things actor Finn Wolfhard has unveiled his musical project, mere weeks after his last band announced their dissolution.

Over the last couple of years, those situated in the centre of the Venn diagram that combines television and music have been loving the presence of Calpurnia. Formed by Stranger Things actor Finn Wolfhard, the group kicked things off in 2017, covering Chicago rockers Twin Peaks.

Before long, more covers emerged, before the band began to release original tunes and their debut EP, Scout.

However, after the release of singles like ‘Cell’ in 2019, the band revealed earlier this month that they were calling it quits, announcing their split via Instagram.

“It’s bittersweet to share this news, but we want to let you know that our time playing together as Calpurnia has come to an end,” the group revealed. “We are extremely grateful for the support we’ve received over the past few years.

“What seemed to us like an unimaginable reality came to be, and we have been thrilled to share the ride with you.”

Now, it seems as though their famous frontman has moved onto a new project, debuting a new band called The Aubreys, as Stereogum points out.

Not to be confused with the Adelaide outfit called The Audreys, the new group are set to make their debut on the soundtrack to the upcoming horror film, The Turning.

If that movie sounds familiar to you, then you might recall how this same soundtrack is set to feature a track called ‘Mother’, the first solo single from Courtney Love since 2015. Check it out below.
