In what has become a now annual tradition, The National have recorded a new song as part of Bob’s Burgers “Bob’s Buskers” series to celebrate Thanksgiving. “Save The Bird” is the fourth Thanksgiving themed track the band has made for the series.

Previous efforts from the band include “Give It To Teddy“, “Kill The Turkey“, and “Gravy Boat“. The band have also written several other tracks for the show and lead singer Matt Berninger even performed some of them back in 2017 as part of the Bob’s Burgers live show. Whilst it may seem like an unlikely pairing, The National clearly love the show, Berninger said in a statement “We’re honoured to continue our Thanksgiving tradition with Bob’s Burgers with ‘Save The Bird,’ which was recorded at Public Hi-Fi in Austin and in my secluded dojo in Los Angeles,” He continues “It’s especially thrilling to have our brass section finally get credit for something. Also, I’d like to thank Tom for doing the dishes.”

The National released their most recent album Sleep Well Beast last year, and visited our shores earlier this year for a massive tour which included two shows at the Sydney Opera House Forecourt. Check out the video for “Carin At The Liquor Store” below.
