The Wiggles celebrated being Rolling Stone AU/NZ cover stars in the most wiggly way possible, joyously singing about it in their Big Red Car on live TV.

The iconic children’s music group appeared on Network Ten’s Studio 10 this morning to discuss all things Wiggles, including the arrival of new Blue Wiggle Lucia Field, joining her father Anthony in the lineup.

They also promoted their upcoming Australian arena tour, which will make The Wiggles the first band in Australian history to perform two arena tours in one year (see below).

The hosts then brought up their Rolling Stone AU/NZ cover. “This is a cracking cover,” Sarah Harris gushed. “How awesome was it to be on the cover of a music bible?” “Why talk about when we can sing about?” replied Yellow Wiggle Tsehay Hawkins before the group duly burst into song.

“It’s the thrill that’ll get you when you get your picture on the cover of the Rolling Stone,” they joyously sang. It was a cover of the Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show song ‘The Cover of ‘Rolling Stone”, which interestingly was a satirical lament about that band not making it onto the cover of the iconic magazine.

The Wiggles have had no such issues. Their impromptu morning show performance came just days before the group’s Rolling Stone AU/NZ cover issue hits newsstands on Monday, September 5th. The September-November edition features unprecedented access to their recent Australia arena tour and to their Hot Potato Studios in Sydney, and also comes with a Wiggles-themed adult colouring book (subscribe here).
