Sydney’s I Know Leopard recently made their way into the Triple J studios to work some Like A Version alchemy. The band lent their talents to a cover of the classic ’90s R&B jam ‘Waterfalls’ by TLC, and reminded us all of why the ’90s were so awesome in the processs.
If it wasn’t for the lyrics, which, if you were a ’90s kid (you know, a real ’90s kid, not someone who was born on December 29th 1999) are basically tattooed indelibly on your brain, you’d barely recognise this dreamy and ethereal cover version.

Well, that’s not entirely true. We must say the unforgettable opening wah-wah lead (you know the one) immediately takes us back to days of Tamagotchis, Spice Girls posters, Saturday morning cartoons that didn’t suck, cargo pants, and Power Rangers. If you weren’t there, it was awesome.
We must say that we’re blown away each week with the level of talent that’s hosted at Triple J Studios. We’ve already seen some killer Like A Versions this year, including Hiatus Kaiyote’s incredible rework of Gorillaz, The Bennies’ take on TISM, and Sticky Fingers’ take on DMA’s.
