As per usual, triple j has spent the last week delivering some absolutely amazing tracks to your ears, with amazing Aussie acts getting plenty of spin, while sharing the spotlight with our international friends as well.

With so many amazing artists and songs floating around the airwaves, it can be a little hard to keep track of what we’ve been listening to over the week.

That’s where we come in. Thanks to our friends over at J Play, we’ve compiled a list of the most-played acts for the week so you can put a name to those tunes you’ve been hearing all week. Who knows, you might just discover a new favourite thanks to this list.

20. Clea

Having been on the scene for a few years now, Brisbane’s Clea manages to keep on getting better and better. Having signed with New World Artists back in October, Clea released the stunning single, ‘Dreaming’, which recently served as the most-played track on triple j. We can’t wait to hear what else is in store from this amazing artist!

19. Post Malone & Swae Lee

Post Malone had already had a stellar couple of years, so it’s only understandable that a new track would see some major success. Titled ‘Sunflower’, this collab with Swae Lee was released on the soundtrack for the film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and is currently this week’s twelfth most-played track.

18. Methyl Ethel

Methyl Ethel had a pretty stellar 2017, having scored the #4 spot on the Hottest 100, and receiving plenty of acclaim for the brilliance of their record, Everything Is Forgotten. Now, with the group back on the airwaves thanks to huge tracks like ‘Scream Whole’, they’ve currently got the 16th most-played track for this week.

17. Tired Lion

Just weeks before the end of the year, Tired Lion decided to gift us one of the bangers of 2018. Written about the departure of their former guitarist, ‘With Or Without’ has been resonating with listeners and is currently this week’s eleventh most-played track.

16. Basement

Releasing their fourth album – Beside Myself – back in October, Basement have been giving us a healthy dose of tasty alternative rock with their latest tunes. 15. Tash Sultana

It was a long time coming, but Tash Sultana released her long-awaited debut album – Flow State – back in August and fans have loved it. The album clearly resonated with music lovers around the world, with tracks like ‘Free Mind’ recently serving as one of the triple j’s most-played tracks.

14. Bring Me The Horizon

Bring Me The Horizon are gearing up to release their new album, amo, in January, and fans have been loving their new tunes. Releasing ‘Mantra’ a while back, the group’s latest tune ‘Wonderful Life’ is the tenth most-played track on the triple j this week, and serves as a reminder of just how popular these English rockers are.

13. Khalid

Khalid’s American Teen was only released back in 2017, but already the young muso is back in the game of new music. Releasing ‘Better’ back in September, Khalid dropped his latest EP – Suncity – recently and it’s been going wild. With the title track currently ranked as this week’s ninth most-played track, you’ll be hearing plenty more from this amazing artist soon.

12. Juice WRLD

Already heading our way for Falls Festival over the new year, Juice WRLD has been taking over the world with his fresh new sound. Latest single ‘Armed And Dangerous’ has been taking over the airwaves recently though, scoring enough love to see it become the eighth most-played track this week.

11. Polish Club

It feels like only yesterday that Polish Club released their amazing debut, Alright Already, but it’s alright, because they’re already back with a new single. Releasing ‘Clarity’ back in October, the band have given us the first taste of their new record, and have scored the 15th most-played track on triple j in the process.

10. Anderson .Paak

Anderson .Paak has well and truly been delivering the goods this year. With singles like ‘Bubblin” and ‘Tints’ doing the rounds, he recently released his new album, Oxnard, to huge critical acclaim and the honourable feature album spot. Keep an ear out, because with plenty of killer singles onboard, Oxnard is on track to be one of the year’s biggest albums.

9. Vera Blue

It was only last year that Vera Blue released Perennial, but she’s already back with a killer new single that will keep you going for a while still. Titled ‘All The Pretty Girls’, the track is clearly resonating with triple j listeners, managing to become this week’s sixth most-played track.

8. Montaigne

Montaigne recently returned with her first new tune in two years, and fans have been loving this long-awaited jam. Titled ‘For Your Love’, it’s described by this amazing musician as being “darker” and “more revealing”, but listeners have loved it enough for the track to become this week’s fifth most-played song.

7. The Wombats

Honorary Aussies The Wombats just wrapped up yet another Australian tour, and their tunes have been tearing up the airwaves as always. With tracks like ‘Bee Sting’ and ‘Oceans’ from the expanded edition of Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life doing the rounds, the latter is currently this week’s seventh most-played track.

Currently this week’s fourth most-played track, this one will be hanging around for quite a while, we reckon.

3. Hermitude

Blue Mountains music legends Hermitude have just made their musical return, releasing their brand new single, ‘Stupid World’. The first taste of a new record, this amazing tune is this week’s most-played track, and it’s a well-deserved placing!

2. Parkway Drive

Aussie metalcore legends are still riding high on the success of their latest record, Reverence. Released back in May, the album is an instant classic, and has seen tracks like ‘The Void’ and ‘Prey’ get plenty of well-deserved airings on triple j this week. None of their tracks are in the most-played, but that just shows how popular Parkway Drive’s extensive discography still is.

1. Parcels

Parcels first blew up thanks to a breakthrough single that was produced by Daft Punk. Now, having dropped their debut record, nabbed Milla Jovovich to collaborate on the music video for ‘Withorwithout’, and scored the feature album spot, it’s easy to see why Parcels are the most-played act on triple j this week.
