The Shadow Electric Open-Air Cinema & Band Room continues it’s tradition of screening the very best from the world of art-house, music, classic and retrospective cinema with the release of the second part of the 2014 cinema program.
Situated within the historical 19th Century Abbotsford Convent, The Shadow Electric is an open-air cinema experience featuring state of the art vision and sound quality that is unlike any other. The season will continue to run until March 16th, 2014.
Open six days a week, The Shadow Electric has more screenings than ever, including a wonderful crop of general release titles from some of the great filmmakers of our time. Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall St, David O. Russell’s American Hustle, and The Coen Brother’s Inside Llewyn Davis.
Part two of The Shadow Electric 2014 program includes a selection of the best best locally made documentaries such as Lygon St: Si Parla Italiano and In Bob We Trust, as well as the latest music documentaries. Titles such as The Punk Singer, a film about Le Tigre’s Kathleen Hanna, an underground techno documentary, From Paris to Berlin feature.
This season we pay tribute to legendary independent filmmaker Jim Jarmusch with a series of rarely screened, classic films: Dead Man, Down by Law and Mystery Train.
With DJs on the weekend, food trucks five nights a week, table tennis and frosty drinks from the bar, The Shadow Electric has something for everyone this summer.
