Following the release of Felicity Groom’s sophomore album, Hungry Sky, a release stacked with liquid psychedelia and explosive ballads, the striking songstress today drops the accompanying video to newest single, ‘Oh Jesus’. Groom will be bringing her on-stage prowess around the country, today announcing a run of shows across Australia where she will be supported by one of the most unique voices in Australian music, Olympia.
Oh Jesus was produced by Kevin Parker and recorded in Groom’s loungeroom in Perth. Appropriately full of tales, the single was written on stage for a play called Tinkertown. In similar fashion, the accompanying clip features Felicity performing the song in front of the bright lights of Broadway. The follow on from her acclaimed debut. Gossamer, Hungry Sky was recorded in Perth with band mates Andrew Ryan, Mike Jelinek and Steve Summerlin, and includes 12 stellar tracks as well as guest appearances from Kevin Parker, Jay Watson and Julian Barbagallo (Tame Impala).
Joining Felicity on all these dates (except Perth) will be the musical moniker of Melbourne’s Olivia Bartley, Olympia. with her fly away guitar, nodding to the likes of Neil Young and Jeff Buckley, she seems to have sure knowledge of her armoury. With support slots for the likes of Paul Dempsey (Something For Kate), Josh Pyke and City and Colour, under her belt, don’t miss her on tour with Felicity Groom this April.
