With just under two weeks until show time, the Electronic Music Conference (EMC) has announced a huge program of official events and parties set to take place across Sydney during the week of the conference which will play host to a wide variety of informative panels and masterclasses.
Held over three days from December 2–4 at Sydney’s Carriageworks, EMC is part of ARIA Week, a celebration of Australian music taking place in and around Sydney in the lead-up to the annual ARIA Awards.
Those attending EMC will be invited to mark the start of the conference with a sunset Opening Party at the new Café Del Mar, Darling Harbour on Monday December 2nd. EMC speakers and ticket holders will be treated to drinks and canapés with entertainment from Plus 8 co-founder and Beatport Executive Creative Director Clark Warner, Sampology (live VJ set) and Gabby (Finely Tuned).
Delegates, speakers and VIPs will also be invited Red Bull HQ for EMC Spotlight on Tuesday December 3rd for networking drinks and performances from six of Australia’s most promising new talents. The showcase artists, JNGL, Meltek, Magnifikate, KLP, Oscar Wilde and SAFIA, were selected from over 250 applications and will play to a room of the industry’s most influential figures.
The conference will draw to a close with a party at ivy featuring Boys Noize, 90s house legend Cajmere (aka Green Velvet), HARD Events legend Destructo, Daft-Punk collaborator Falcon, Djedjotronic and more dominating the decks. The event will take over the whole venue and is open to the public. Entry is free for all EMC speakers and delegates, with general public tickets starting at $35 available via EMC sponsor Mosthix.
The conference has also joined forces with a number of Sydney’s best-loved promoters and venues to throw a series of EMC events that will be open to the public and will be free or discounted for EMC delegates.

“EMC is more than just a conference,” said EMC founder Neil Ackland. “It’s an opportunity for Sydney to show that it has an electronic music scene to rival any major city in the world. Our plan for EMC is to take over every bar, club, live music venue and warehouse for one week a year so all of Sydney can be a part of EMC.”
EMC will bring together the world’s leading electronic music artists and industry insiders to inspire and champion a new generation of business leaders and a new era of forward-thinking music and events across the Asia-Pacific region. The conference is taking place this 2-4 December at Carriageworks, Sydney.
