Ever wondered what Brisbane riff merchants Violent Soho get up to when they’re not instantly conjuring mosh pits at their live shows?

Wonder no more, as new tour footage of the grunge disciples offers a pretty entertaining behind-the-scenes look at the band’s recent jaunt with the regional Groovin The Moo tour.

The mini-tour doco, compiled by Mushroom, features all the cheeky rock star antics you’d expect of a band who’ve experienced the accelerated rise to fame that Violent Soho have since releasing their third album Hungry Ghost.

Beginning with a dick joke in a public urinal, the ‘On The Road’ feature features the four-piece blazing up in the tour bus (alongside I OH YOU label founder Johann Ponniah), throwing dance shapes to a Toto classic, offering hair grooming tips, showing off their rider – and most importantly – sending crowds ballistic with festival-honed anthems. (all together now, “Hell Fuck Yeah!”)

As the inspirational crowd sing-a-long to ‘Covered In Chrome’ demonstrates, Violent Soho were a bona fide highlight of Groovin The Moo, hailed as “one of the most impressive of the day” by our Tone Deaf reviewer in Maitland and “bursting with ingenuity and a sense of musical proficiency that few grunge-revivalists acts possess,” over in South Australia.

There’s plenty more opportunities for a tour doco sequel in the near-future as Violent Soho embark on a practically sold out headline tour this July with Melbourne’s Smith Street Band and Tasmanians Luca Brasi, as well as multiple festival appearances, including the underage Live It Up in Brisbane, Perth’s boutique Circó Festival, and what will be a must-see set at Splendour In The Grass this July.
