A Coolio Australian Tour 2014 has been announced, just one year on from “visa issues” cancelling the rapper’s imminent visit.

The multi-platinum selling rapper behind ‘Gangsta’s Paraidse’ and ‘I’ll See You When You Get There’ has been confirmed for a return Down Under this July and August for a nine-date tour of the country, less than 12 months on from “unforeseen circumstances” and problems with the 49-year-old MC’s visa were blamed for scuttling his last tour, previous to that he was in Australia for the 2013 Falls Festival Tour.

In 1996 Coolio won a Grammy Award for Best Solo Rap Performance for his international hit single, ‘Gangsta’s Paradise’, which was also featured on the Dangerous Minds soundtrack. The song, also nominated for a Grammy for Best Song of the Year, has sold over 4 million copies worldwide and was Billboard Magazine’s Number #1 single of 1995.

Coolio has successfully made the transition from performer to actor and he has appeared in many feature films. His recent ‘Cooking with Coolio‘ show proved to be so successful that he published an accompanying cookbook which featured recipes for his very own ‘ghetto cuisine’ and lessons in how to cook ‘Blasian’ (Black Asian) and ‘Ghettalian’ (Ghetto Italian).

Coolio continues to receive worldwide attention for his work as an entertainer and as a role model that continues to help young people through his role as honorary director of the Heritage Begins Within Foundation.
