The BIGSOUND Live 2014 lineup already lived up to its name when more than 80 of the best emerging Aussie artists were locked in for the annual Brisbane music industry conference last month.

Now another round of 42 artists has been confirmed, bringing the total BIGSOUND Live 2014 tally to a whopping 127 acts.

Among the new additions are buskers-turned-indie successes The Pierce Brothers, Sydney electronicists Seekae, Pond frontman and Tame Impala alumni Nicholas Albrook, fellow Spinning Top Music mates Felicity Groom and Peter Bibby, and WA prog heroes Voyager. Plus Jeremy Neale, Mosman Alder, Patrick James, SAFIA, Art Of Sleeping, The Funkoars, Canada’s July Talk and Mise En Scene, and Jesse Sheehan and Males from New Zealand.

Another highlight of the new additions is legendary Aussie mainstays The Church, who will be showcasing their new lineup (featuring ex-Powderfinger guitarist Ian Haug) and the new album they have in the pipeline, while Steve Kilbey is also delivering a keynote address as part of BIGSOUND 2014’s epic list of industry speakers and panelists. The enormous BIGSOUND Live 2014 lineup will be spread across two nights throughout Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley in 14 venues, an expansion from last year’s footprint that reaches northside venues The Underdog, Crowbar, The Elephant, The New Globe, Crow Bar, plus new outdoor venues located at Brightside and Magic City.

“It’s no exaggeration to say that over two nights we’ll be showcasing some of the most exciting rock, hip hop, punk, metal, dance, pop, folk, roots and country music in the world,” says BIGSOUND programmer Nick O’Byrne.

“We reckon the quality of music and the incredible festival environment will firmly establish BIGSOUND as one of the most dynamic taste-making events in the international calendar. What makes it even more exciting is the unprecedented influx of music industry leaders who can’t wait to see and hear what we have to offer.”
