Today Davey Lane has dropped ‘Komarov’, his newest single and the first taste of his new upcoming record. Titled Atonally Young, the LP is set for release October 3rd via Field Recordings/MGM.

Thanks to the support of his fans through a hugely successful Pozible fundraising campaign, Davey headed into the studio in May with producer Tony Buchen (The Preatures, Loon Lake, Gin Wigmore, Washington) to track his debut full-length album, Atonally Young. The first fruit of their labour is ‘Komarov’.

Filmed and produced by Danny Wild of Zonk Vision (King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard and The Murlocs), ‘Komarov’ is based on the true story of the doomed spaceflight of Vladimir Komarov in 1967. Davey says, “I’ve always had a nerdy fascination with the Soviet space program, since I was maybe 6 years old or something, and the story of Komarov’s Soyuz 1 mission is a particularly interesting, if not sad, chapter in its history. The lyric writing process is usually like drawing blood from a stone for me but this one wrote itself.”
