Yeah, we know, making fun of Nickelback is so 2012, if it wasn’t already passé then. They’re not that bad, lots of people actually happen to enjoy them, and making fun of them is about as original as pointing out that Justin Bieber is an infantile recidivist delinquent.

All of that said, Queensland Police have just unleashed an absolutely masterful little piece of viral humour that deserves everyone one of its over 15,000 likes and over 4,000 shares. They just pulled off the Nickelback uber-troll and in a way only the cops could.

The Queensland Police Service’s social media accounts have been known to illicit a chuckle or two in the past (in the interest of public safety and law enforcement, of course) and they recently shared a wanted poster for the Canadian rockers ahead of their Brisbane gig tonight.

The band are currently in the country as part of their No Fixed Address Australian tour and the QPS shared a poster urging Queensland residents to “BOLO – Be On the Look Out”, complete with identikit drawings of the four band members, who are “Wanted for Crimes Against Music”.

“Police are on the lookout for these men who are believed to be impersonating musicians around Boondall this evening,” the post added, really driving the point home. “Avoid the area. It may be hazardous to your hearing and street cred.”

Of course, this was all in good fun, and as the Brisbane Times notes, the QPS’s attention-grabbing post was intended to urge caution for concertgoers driving around the Brisbane Entertainment Centre at Boondall, an area notorious for becoming clogged with traffic following events.
