As Tone Deaf reported yesterday, Melbourne band Closure In Moscow have found themselves in a troubling situation in London, after they experienced a break-in to their tour van, with thieves making off with several important items including their passports.

“Played a sold out show in London tonight,” the band wrote on Facebook yesterday. “Also got rolled and got all our passports, clothes, laptops and some personal equipment stolen. Oh the highs n lows of being a band. Fuck.”

“Long story short, we played the Garage in London,” guitarist and vocalist Mansur Zennelli told Tone Deaf. “Sold out, which was amazing, crowd was absolutely ridiculous, great energy.”

“Finished up only to find that the side-window of the van was busted open and all our valuables taken along with our passports,” Manny continued, adding Closure In Moscow to the long list of bands to experience van break-ins.

“Spoke to the police who were great, filed a report and now we are outside of the Australian consulate waiting for it to open so we can hopefully get some emergency passports so we can continue the tour.”

However, despite being “a little bit shattered”, the band have not lost their tongue-in-cheek sense of humour. They recently returned to their Facebook page to share a detailed and hilarious list of all the items they had stolen from them.

Among the items were “five pairs of priceless, specialty high vis socks”, a “Katmandu [sic] ‘fuckin awesome series’ backpack”, and a “GoPro hero 4 w/all attachments, chest strap, mounts, all that shit”.

The band are also missing “€500 in cash for one night with hookers and blow in Amsterdam… Resistance band to get jacked and also to auto erotic asphyxiate” and a stack of clothes, freshly washed so they’re “far easier to fence to vintage stores”.

Of particular importance is frontman Christopher’s 15″ MacBook Pro, which is apparently identifiable by “the big black sticker with chrome letters that says ‘DEATH’ over the Apple logo, which is what we wish for these scum cunts”.

The grand total of everything that was stolen comes to a heartbreaking $8,700. “That’s a lot of heroin, folks,” the band conclude. “We wish the assailants many a happy dragon chase xoxo.”
