Having teased fans late last month, Sydney’s favourite sons DMA’s have now officially announced the release of their long-awaited and eagerly anticipated debut full-length album. The record will be titled Hills End and it’s slated to drop Friday, 26th February.

The band’s origin dates back to mid-2013, when the Newtown trio came to the attention of Australian label I OH YOU after recording a handful of demos in the bedroom of guitarist Johnny Took. A debut self-titled EP was released to widespread acclaim in March 2014.

Having toured around Australia and even overseas, including extensive treks throughout the US, Canada, Europe, the UK, and Japan, the band have garnered acclaim from all corners of the music industry, including from the likes of Blur’s Dave Rowntree.

Hills End once again took shape in Took’s bedroom and is comprised of a selection of recordings from the past four years. It was produced by DMA’s and Dylan Adams in a small studio in Coogee and mixed by Mark ‘Spike’ Stent (Depeche Mode, Yeah Yeah Yeahs).

Fans have already received a taste of the album in the form of ‘Lay Down’, which received its world premiere via Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1 back in September, an occasion the band celebrated by playing two sold-out homecoming shows in Sydney and Melbourne.

Readers can check out the full tracklisting and cover art for Hills End below. The album drops Friday, 26th February, just in time for the band’s eagerly awaited performance at next year’s St Jerome’s Laneway Festival.
