Courtney Barnett is set to be the final musical guest on this season of Saturday Night Live, the iconic US sketch show. SNL veteran and Portlandia co-creator Fred Armisen is set to host and we’re really hoping Courtney gets in on a skit.
As some astute readers may recall, our very own Gotye participated in a skit with Andy Samberg and Taran Killam when he appeared on an episode of the Saturday night staple to perform ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ with Kimbra back in 2012.
Whilst there’s still no word on whether Courtney will take part in a skit (we’ll just have to wait and see), a promo for the season finale featuring Courtney, Armisen, and cast member Bobby Moynihan, including a behind the scenes clip, has surfaced.
The clip is honestly very endearing in its awkwardness, with Courtney showing her famous camera-shyness and not even trying to keep a straight face amidst Armisen and Moynihan’s antics. You can check out both clips embedded below.
In other Courtney news, the singer and songwriter revealed at Coachella that she’s already begun penning songs that could potentially make her next album. “I’ve been writing since the last one I guess,” she revealed.
