Two of Australia’s biggest hit-making bands from the 2000s are set to reunite. Brisbane’s George will play an anniversary show at the upcoming Brisbane Festival, whilst Perth’s End of Fashion have taken to social media to tease a new tour.

As Brisbane Times reports, Katie Noonan and her George bandmates Tyrone Noonan, Nick Stewart, Geoff Green, and Paulie Bromley will mark the 20th anniversary of the formation of the band with a special one-off performance at Brisbane Festival 2016.

“Really, I guess, if we are going to do it then now is the time,” Tyrone told the outlet. “It’s 20 years since the band formed, we formed in 1996, and it seems like, well, it’s now or never.”

The band’s debut album, Polyserena, entered the ARIA Albums chart at Number 1 back in 2002, making George the 10th Australian act to debut at Number 1. By the end of 2002, the album had gone double platinum.

Meanwhile, End of Fashion recently christened their new Instagram page by sharing the artwork to their Gold-selling 2005 self-titled debut album and revealing to fans via the bio description that a tour announcement is “coming soon”.

The success of the album was propelled by the lead single ‘O Yeah’, which frontman Justin Burford wrote to win a bet and reached Number 21 on the ARIA Singles Chart and came in at Number 8 in that year’s Hottest 100 countdown.
