Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine has promised to release one more music video while on house arrest. The New York MC has already released two singles since his early prison release in April.
6ix9ine has had a busy few months. After being released from prison on April 2nd, the rapper got stuck into making music. His comeback single ‘GOOBA’ came out on May 8th and debuted at number three in the US Billboard Hot 100. It has since been certified Platinum.
His next single, ‘TROLLZ’, arrived on June 12th. The trap-influenced track features a guest verse from Nicki Minaj, who previously appeared on 6ix9ine’s 2018 single ‘Fefe’. The song’s hyper-coloured music video enjoyed the biggest 24 hour debut for a hip-hop video in YouTube history. The previous record holder was ‘GOOBA’.
6ix9ine has now announced another single is on its way. “So I have about 34 more days ‘til house arrest is over,” he said. “About 34 more days and the ankle monitor comes off and the king of New York is back on the street. I’m gonna give y’all one more music video.”
6ix9ine was released from prison on April 2nd 2020; approximately four months ahead of schedule. He was imprisoned in December 2019 after pleading guilty to nine charges including armed robbery and conspiracy to murder.
“Just picture this right: I’ve been on house arrest,” he continued. “I broke a whole bunch of records. Since I’ve been home, the first song out of jail, Platinum. I have the number one record in the world, from house arrest, I’ve been shooting all the music videos in my living room.
“I’m gonna give y’all one more music video. July 3rd, a new music video.”

6ix9ine hasn’t been able to avoid controversy over the past couple of months. ‘GOOBA’ was denied top spot in the US Billboard Hot 100 by the Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber collab ‘Stuck With U’. This led 6ix9ine to accuse both Billboard and Grande of corruption.
