The Brian Jonestown Massacre have announced a 2012 Australian tour on the back of the upcoming release of their 12th studio album Aufheben.

Known for their sometimes controversial behaviour on stage and lead by their fearless leader Anton Newcombe, the group are putting the final touches on their follow up to 2010’s Who Killed Sft Pepper? and Australian audiences will be amongst the first in the world to hear the new tracks.

Newcombe gave us a sneak peak at what to expect from the groups new record with a video for single ‘Blue Order/New Monday’ finding its way onto the internet to tease fans who will have to wait a few more months until they get to hear the full thing.

Posting a message to fans on Youtube, Newcombe revealed that Aufheben’s release date is “in the pipeline – 30th April – Europe & the rest of the world. 1st May – North America or when world peace is declared. whichever one comes first i believe.”

Aufheben is out on April 30 through Inertia here in Australia
