2012 marks the 35th anniversary of Elvis Presley’s untimely death and, in a stroke of marketing genius, fans were not only encouraged to decide the track listing of the latest compilation, they also had the chance to be part of the photo-mosaic cover art.

The result is a truly solid compendium of Presley’s most revered hits. Classics like “Don’t Be Cruel”, “Jailhouse Rock”, “All Shook Up” and “Viva Las Vegas” are all present, while a number of live performances (most notably “Burning Love”) remind listeners why so many millions of people adored ‘The King’ of rock ‘n’ roll.

This compilation also focuses on Elvis’ gospel roots, with “An American Trilogy” and “(There’ll Be) Peace In The Valley (For Me)” serving as a testament to his versatility.

I Am An Elvis Fan is a brilliantly well-rounded collection of one of popular music’s most important forefathers, but nothing a true fan wouldn’t have in the record collection already.
