Mere seconds after watching the video clip to “Fight Like a Brave”, jacked up on cheap wine and… Well cheap wine, it was decided that the dudes from the yet-to-be-named “Bad Taste” would start a band the likes of which the world had never seen (and would probably never have asked to see, given the choice).
They decided two things; 1: Their music would be the most party-hardy music known to man, and 2: They would only play at house parties.
The next week they found themselves on the bill of a show at a local venue.  Although none of them had actually booked this show, they decided not to ask any questions and just shut up and play. Enter Bad Taste – Their 4-song set went over exceedingly well, solidifying the ill-advised idea that this band was indeed an intelligent decision.

You recorded a self-titled EP earlier this year, where did you record and who with?

We recorded this one in a couple of locations. The drums were tracked in a rehearsal room at The Wick with a nifty Yamaha HDD. Everything else was recorded and mixed at various houses. DIY recording has always been done for Bad Taste so we didn’t want any studio time for this EP either. Its a lot of fun recording yourself and it always ends up sounding interesting.

You’re about to take part in Nevermind The 90’s series, what songs should we expect to hear in your live set?

A smashing mixture of beautiful sing along, some of the best nu-metal of the day and a great song about being the very best! All feature great guitar solo’s.

Will you be wearing 90’s get up for the show? If so what are you planning to wear, if not what would you like to wear from the 90’s?

We always were 90’s gear. Accept Louis who is filling in on guitar for the tour, but he is a troublemaker.

Who are your top five 90’s artists in no particular order and why?

Some of them started before 90’s but had a lot of good stuff during that decade..

1.  Faith No More, because they are just damn good!

2. 5ive, Obviously because “5ive will make you get down now”

3. Korn, Not a band to be associated with these days, but a great nu metal band before the claimed to have invented Dubstep. SKAS

4. Beastie Boys, Awesome back up vocals and good hip-hop that’s not ALL about how awesome and rich and in the club they always are.

5. NirvanaJanesAddicitonChillipeppers and all those other rambunctious bands that were kickin around and had some songs in the 90’s To many to mention

If you could have been any band from the 90’s who would it be and why?

MC Hammer, because then we could all were one pair of pants and nobody could touch us.

What is your favourite 90’s song?

Ebeneezer Goode by The Shamen

‘Fess up. What records have you stolen from your parent’s record collection and why?

We share all our records with our dads and have sweet record parties so no need for stealing. BUT to name 3%. Faith No More, Powermad, Van halen, Bungle, Zappa and a van morrison CD.

Do you have any particular ritual before you go on stage, or even a lucky charm you take with you?

Well…after we complete or prayer and ritualistic sacrifice to RALNOK god of fire, a couple of drinks and a sweet singaglong always do the trick! Our singers lucky charm is a bottle of stones ginger wine.

Where we can see you play next, what releases do you have available and where can we get them?

Well if you wanna call us then we can give you a really outdate demo if it can be found. At the moment our EP is on bandcamp for free! http://badtasteparty.bandcamp.com/#zplays

We don’t have to many shows confirmed after the 90’s tour but we are playing The Village at Falls festival so come on down and have a good time. It has a history of being a very enjoyable late night romp.

Catch Bad Taste at the final Nevermind The 90’s show Friday 26th October @ Noise Bar.
