The pre-sale for tickets to Laura Marling’s recently announced Splendour 2013 Sideshows have now closed and demand has been so high for the indie folkie’s upcoming shows, that Heavenly Sounds have added new dates to the singer-songwriters upcoming Australian tour.
Ahead of the public sale tomorrow, Tuesday 28th May at 9am, two extra dates have been added for Sydney, on Monday 22nd July, and Melbourne, on Wednesday 31st July.
This series of shows in Sydney, Adelaide, Perth and Melbourne will see Marling perform unique show with the staging set inside a church in each city, courtesy of heavenly sounds. Marling will a will perform songs from her latest album Once I Was An Eagle as well as selections from her rich back catalogue.
Released in Australia on May 24th, praise for Once I Was An Eagle – her fourth record – is already pouring in from international critics. Q Magazine calls it “beautiful, heartfelt, searching, sublime” in their four star review, and Mojo notes “It’s the sweet sound of this unique talent evolving and it’s utterly captivating,” in their own four-star write-up.
Since her 2007 debut, Alas I Cannot Swim Laura Marling has established herself as one of the finest young talents around. At just 23 years of age, she has scored a Brit Award, two Mercury Music Prize nominations, and an NME Award for Best Solo Artist.
The 23-year-old singer-songwriter was in Australia last year as part of Laneway 2012, performing a series of breathtaking sideshows around the country.
