Melbourne shoegazers Pretty City are hitting the road for the first time to take their twin peaks meets blur inspired single, ‘Ignoring My Friends’ to the rest of the country. First stop is home crowd at Ding Dong Lounge Melbourne on Friday 6th of June with Geelong buddies The Universal, also launching a new CD.

Their second single, ‘Ignoring My Friends’, garnered instant attention with their light hearted DIY video featuring a bunch of the bands childhood toys dancing and singing the song. Tone Deaf premiering the video on their website and newsletter and New York music blog, Dingus and Australia’s The Ripe were quick to follow, saying that “…when a band continues to push out D.I.Y anthems as well as Pretty City, we like to give credit where it is due” and Pretty City are “… definitely a band to watch out for”.

This single is a mellower track compared to their 2 minutes of adrenaline that was their debut Part Of Your Crowd. Ignoring my friends is more like a washy, pop-ballad set in Twin Peaks. It’s about having a girlfriend you want to spend so much time with that you ignore all your friends.

See them launch it at Ding Dong Lounge Melbourne Saturday 6th of July:
