The Me First And The Gimme Gimmes Australian Tour 2013 has been announced, with the punk rock supergroup bringing their rocket-shaped guitar swag to Australia for a nationwide trek.
This will be the first time the band has played in Australia since 2010′s No Sleep Til festival, when the band shared the stage with the likes of Megadeth and (Gimme Gimmes bass player Fat Mike’s other band) NOFX.
In 2011 the punk rock cover-band released their Go Down Under EP, which featured five renditions of Aussie classics, including INXS‘ ‘Never Tear Us Apart’, Air Supply’s ‘All Out of Love’, and The Easybeats’ ‘Friday On My Mind’. It’s also the first visit from the punk covers band since releasing their EP, meaning audiences could be in for some homegrown hits in their sets.
Tickets for the tour go on sale at 9am on Friday 26th July. The tour will see them bringing their trademark poppy punk rock sound and sense of humour along the entire coast of Australia, with two dates each scheduled for lucky fans in Victoria, New South Wales and Western Australia.
