It is with delightful confusion that Feelings (the solo project of the frontman of Philadelphia Grand Jury – Berkfinger) announce a team-up tour with… wait for it… Philadelphia Grand Jury.

Yes. Your eyes do not deceive you. The Philly Jays are getting the band back together. I mean they’ve already been touring together as Feelings and playing Philly Jays songs here and there in the set, so why not right?

If you still don’t understand, please read on…

From the ashes of Philadelphia Grand Jury rose the phoenix that is Feelings. Berkfinger’s hermit-like approach to making music was perfectly suited to the remarkably bitter winters of his new home in Berlin. There he created his first solo album under this moniker and titled it “Be Kind, Unwind”. It’s an album full of awkward love stories, beautiful melodies and wonky guitars.

With stalwart Feelings guitarist Dave Rennick (Dappled Cities) moving to Paris, Berkfinger needed a band to bring Feelings to the stage and to the rescue came some old friends – namely MC Bad Genius (from Philadelphia Grand Jury) and Dan W Sweat (Art Vs Science AND Philadelphia Grand Jury) – to bring his studio vision to life. And what fun they had! Piggy back rides and the odd Philly Jays song thrown in – it made them a little nostalgic. They were friends! They loved playing shows together! And after a number of years apart, it turns out that everyone had matured just that little bit! (Dan W Sweat finally learnt to drive. MC Bad Genius’ beard went grey. Berkfinger got married!) It quickly became apparent that there was still plenty of unfinished business to attend to.

To celebrate the release of Feelings “Be Kind, Unwind”, the decision was made to reunite Philly Jays and take themselves on the road with themselves. And do it this Summer. Genius!

Hitting Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne, Newcastle and Hobart, this battle royale of two bands with the same three members is possibly the most confusing tour ever conceived! No-one is really sure where this melding really begins or actually ends. But please, no more questions, this is how we want to do this.
