Elizabeth Rose’s experimentation with electro r n’b is fresh, addictive, and downright sexy without intending to be.

The Sydney artist is relatively new on the scene. Her first EP Crystallise was an initial taste of the impressive producer. Now, her highly anticipated, self-titled EP simmers with five great new tracks that each represent a progression in songwriting and a desire to explore new and exciting influences.

Rose continues to master the artistry of melding bright and moody themes with unforgettable melodies, featuring pulsing beats with layers of scintillating synths.

Leading track ‘The Good Life’ features sweet vocals that evoke ambition and anticipation while weaving through beautiful synths. There is a sense of romanticism in ‘The Good Life’, as it represents Rose’s individual story and her desire to reach out and snatch the ‘good life’ all for herself.

‘Out Of Step’ introduces r n’ b tunes mixed with modern electro, however this track is more smooth and subtle, juxtaposing the feeling of excitement in ‘The Good Life’ by utilising mysterious and soft vocals reminiscent of Aaliyah.

Easily the best track comes in ‘Sensibility’. The tune is the perfect storm of layers of synth, keys, and beats, and when combined with lithe and a seductive vocal melody, it results in an effortlessly brilliant song. Working with a masterful production team, including Cameron Parkin and Styalz Feugo, is evident throughout the collection.

Elizabeth Rose is a great EP that continues the journey of this promising electronic artist, one to surely keep an eye on.
