A Saidah Baba Talibah Australian Tour 2014 has been announced.

A Canadian master musical mix, Saidah Baba Talibah blends spicy soul, frenetic funk, raunchy rock and a dollop of Blues into a unique sound and live show, which she’s bringing to Australia for a slew of East Coast shows this April.

As the daughter of “Canada’s first lady of Blues” & Tony/Grammy Award nominated Salome Bey, and the niece of Grammy nominated Andy Bey (once cited as being John Coltrane’s favourite vocalist), it was inevitable that Saidah Baba Talibah would have creativity oozing through her blood.

With her sister, aunts and cousins also being singers, actors, poets & musicians, Talibah has come into her own as a sassy songstress and edgy performer.

As anyone who caught the Tornoto songstress and her band at last year’s BIGSOUND will agree, Talibah’s raw energy, powerhouse vocals, and gutsy performances are nothing short of downright compelling.

Following her shows this month at SXSW 2014, Saidah Baba Talibah will return to Australia in April to perform in Melbourne, Sydney, and as part of the 25th Silver Anniversary Edition lineup of Byron Bay Bluesfest.

Coinciding with the tour will be the repackaged Australian release of Saidah Baba Talibah’s debut album (S)Cream, out 11th April via Code One Recordings/MGM, and featuring the blistering anthemic single ‘Revolution’.
