Florence Welch is keeping her machine well oiled, revealing that she’s been cracking the whip over them to get proceedings for album number two under way. Work has already begun on the follow up to 2008’s sleeper hit Lungs, with a new song called Strangeness & Charm being incorporated into her band’s set as they work their way through Europe’s summer festivals and a winter trip down under for Australia’s Splendour In The Grass.
Florence is suggesting that she may be going down the Kate Bush path with the new album, saying “There is a kind of more atmospheric, elemental thing that I’m kind of going for, ’cause the whole first album was really based really deeply on Gothic romance, and things like that, so maybe we’ll try and do something that’s slightly more…ethereal.”
