Australia’s favourite electronic sons may have released their third LP, Pacifica, back in 2012 but that hasn’t stopped the duo from remaining fairly active in recent months after wrapping up their album tour last year.
Yet Kim Moyes, one half of the duo, has still managed to find time to release Kloser, a three track EP of “ecstasy drenched techno”. Operating simply under the guise of KIM, the producer will also embark on a national tour this September to support his new release. Full dates and details below.
Kloser is Moyes’ first proper solo release (remixes aside) since 2009’s compilation, Selected Jerks 2001 – 2009, and both ‘Casiopea’ and the title track have the ability to will you to the dancefloor the contemplative drawn out tones of ‘Frozen’ is arguably just as interesting despite its comparative mellowness. Listen to the EP below and find out for yourself.
While news of a new Presets album hasn’t surfaced yet, they certainly haven’t slipped under the radar like they did after the release of Apocalypso in 2009.
Not only have they released a six-sided interactive video for their latest single ‘No Fun’, but they’ve also managed to find time to team up with The Australian Chamber Orchestra, playing a ‘Timeline’ of some of music history’s most important classics. Less intentional though was their last minute fill in slot for this year’s Splendour In The Grass after London Grammar called in sick in the final hour.
