Everything’s coming up Violent Soho. As if slamming some of Australia’s biggest festivals, scoring international label deals, and inspiring some killer merchandise wasn’t enough, now the Brisbane quartet can add another Aussie milestone to their already bulging CV: guest programming Rage.

The Mansfield four-piece will take the couch to provide “the ultimate party playlist” for viewers of the iconic ABC music clips show this Saturday.

As for what Violent Soho will be screening for their Rage debut, the band will “heavily favour their fellow Aussie rockers” according to the ABC, playing clips from 90s rock hallmarks like Silverchair, Jebediah, Frenzal Rhomb, Magic Dirt, Sandpit, as well as giving some love to recent national tour-mates, The Smith Street Band.

They’ll also be a few classics from the likes of Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, and US college radio staples The Replacements and Archers of Loaf. As is custom, there will likely be Violent Soho’s awesome videography to enjoy to boot.

The full playlist will be available following the broadcast, on Saturday 24th August from 10:30 to 11:30am for you earlier risers, and 11:30pm at night for the proper late night Rage experience.

It’s been a pretty busy year for Violent Soho since the release of last year’s critically acclaimed Hungry Ghost (named by you lot as one of the best albums of 2013), leaving a string of festival sets in their wake, blazing through the Big Day Out, Groovin’ The Moo, Triple J One Night Stand, and more recently turning in a heroic set at Splendour In The Grass (inspiring the creation of the world’s first ‘boot-bong’).

Next up, Violent Soho are set to rock a few more festivals before the year is out – including WA’s North West Festival and then Sunny Dayz Festival this month, and on the Festival Of the Sun 2014 lineup this December alongside Shihad, The Jezabels, Allday, Dune Rats, Steve Smyth, and more.

The band’s success also saw them reissuing Hungry Ghost on limited edition colour vinyl, which sold out in less than 24 hours after going on sale on Friday 15th August. “Holy shit!” exclaimed the group in a Facebook post; “You guys are fucking legends!”

Fresh from inking a deal with Dine Alone Records in Toronto and punk label Side One Dummy! in the USHungry Ghost is also getting released in Canada and US this September, while a censored version of bona-fide festival anthem ‘Covered In Chrome’ hitting radio, removing the iconic ‘Hell Fuck Yeah!’ catch-cry.
