Interpol’s bassist Carlos D left massive riding boots to fill when it was announced he’d quit the band last month. So much so, the band have announced that they’ll be filling them with four feet. The New York City gloom meisters have announced that in demand guitarist Dave Pajo will be joining the band. Pajo is best known for his role as guitarist in influential US indie band Slint. They’ll also be joined on the road by Secret Machines’ Brandon Curtis on keyboards. Although tour plans have been disrupted after most of their U2 support gigs were postponed after Bono did his back in, they’ll be able to acclimatise to their new black clothing in Europe this winter. The band have also emailed fans to say that the new album which is a “self titled, self produced, long-player will be available world wide in mid September.”
