The first nominations for this years ARIA Awards have been announced, with the albums from Chet Faker, Sticky Fingers, and DZ Deathrays all getting nods.
Kicking off what should be another massive celebration of Australian music, the nominations for the 2014 Fine Arts and Artisan Awards categories has been revealed, including Classical Album, Best Jazz Album, Best Original Soundtrack/Cast/Show Album, Best World Music Album along with Producer Of The Year, Engineer Of the Year, and Best Cover Art.
The Fine Arts and Artisan Awards categories herald the beginning of the 2014 ARIA celebrations leading up to ARIA Week festivities from November 21 and the 2014 ARIA Awards on Wednesday, November 26 at The Star Event Centre, Sydney that will be broadcast on Channel Ten.
Albums by Chet Faker, Sticky Fingers, DZ Deathrays, and Angus & Julia Stone are all in the running to scoop up ARIA Awards as the first round of this year’s nominees are unveiled.
Nicholas Murphy, better known as Chet Faker, is nominated for Producer Of The Year for debut album Built On Glass. BFF Flume won the award last year for his work on his eponymous debut LP.

The record also sees Eric J Dubowsky up for Engineer Of The Year, competing against Dustin Tebbutt for his Bones EP, as well as records from Sticky Fingers, Hilltop Hoods, and Andy Bull.
Best Cover Art is also set to be a hotly contested category, with album sleeves from 360, Sia,, DZ Deathrays, Angus & Julia Stone, and Chet Faker all receiving a nod.

The winners of the Fine Arts & Artisan Aria Awards for 2014 will be revealed on Tuesday, October 7 when the remaining categories for the ARIA Awards 2014 will be revealed.
